The Scholarship Program
The Past
Since 2006 until 2015, the scholarship application forms were in Gujarati language and were hand-filled out and mailed out to the VET’s registered office. The scholarship amount was determined by a manual judgment and distributed in cash to the scholarship recipients in the VET’s office, in person. The scholarships were given out for the entire year that is, for the current semester, and also for the subsequent semester which had not even commenced.
The Present
The VET discontinued the above practice in 2016 and instituted a digitalized, paperless and fully automated program-driven, Online Scholarship Program, including distribution of scholarships by electronic transfer of the scholarship amount from the Trust’s account to the scholarship recipients’ accounts.
In 2017, enhancements to the program were made, like the introduction of the non-refundable application fee of Rs. 100, and the introduction of the Subsidized Interest scholarship while continuing its traditional scholarship.
The Future
The implementation of the planned enhancements in the future depends upon the Trust realizing the goal of its corpus fund of Rs. One crore.
